It looks like Ron Paul is no longer officially running, as his Presidential campaign website now redirects to another website. So, I will now be supporting McCain and Palin. I actually registered to vote last week via mail. I am excited about the election for the first time, because this is the first time that I will be able to vote. Also, this is the first time ever that a woman has been in this high of a position in the country!
I was thinking about all those people who don't vote, and I think, how could you not care about the election? Everything in our day to day lives is regulated by the government! I think if you are able to vote but you don't, then you are saying that you don't care how the country is run.
So, get out there and vote! It only takes the push of a button to voice your opinion of our government!

I thought this was interesting as it relates to Religion in general: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081007/ap_on_re_as/as_nepal_living_goddess
Nepal has named a new, living 3-year old goddess. In order to reach goddess-status, one must pass certain tests, including sleeping in a room with goat and buffalo heads... pretty bizarre huh? To me, it sounds more like a Sorority/Fraternity initiation type thing, where you must pass a test in order to be considered part of the "group."
My question is, why do so many religions require you to pass a "test" in order to be inducted into the religion? The Mormons, for example, will let you into their church, but not anyone can just step foot into a temple. Also, the Free Masons have different degrees of Freemasonry, and you must complete tasks in order to advance in degree level.
Also, I think there should be a Current Events board

I don't think it matters when it comes to traditions. If someone wants to use one cup, great. If they want to use individual cups, that's also great. Each church/individual has different preferences of how they want to worship. That's why there's so many denominations. As long as they can all agree on the important stuff, then I don't see a problem with small differences such as how many cups are used, lol. Ironically, this is probably one of the main reasons why the church stemmed off into so many different denominations to begin with!

RON PAUL! Ron Paul is the only candidate who wants real change! And by change, I mean restoring the values this country was built on in the first place.
While he is a Christian (I believe), he stands for small government - he thinks the state should decide on important issues, not the President. He also wants to eliminate the income tax. He is against any kind of national ID, like the new Real ID.
While he is not one of the top candidates, he managed to raise the most money in a single day than any other candidate ever - and all that money came from the grass roots!
I will write Ron Paul in if I have to, but he has my vote! Does he have yours?
On a side note, I must say that I have been very happy to see a few Ron Paul signs scattered throughout Mansfield and Wellsboro!

If you use your fishing lisence for a form of ID
LOL that was a good one! I love coming up with these things! Here's a few of mine:
You might be a redneck if...
A night on the town consists of going to the local Wal-Mart, and then to Wendy's for a chocolate Frosty.
Your version of a gourmet meal is a Banquet chicken frozen meal and some Jello pudding mix.
Your wall-mounted talking fish greets your guests as they walk in the door.
You think a cell phone is what prisoners use to communicate with their visitors.
When your computer says "You've got mail," you run outside and check the mailbox. (not mine)
You didn't go to prom because it fell on the first day of deer hunting season.
You greet your new neighbors with a deer steak -- that you caught last year.
Your alarm clock is a real, live rooster. (not mine)
You plan for months for your big trip to the Farmer's Market two hours away.

First of all, fabulous question!
I do understand what you are saying, but I do think that it depends on the church you are in. But in general, it has been lost. And there is hardly much left to say because i think that your question has been answered by Jaunita and Paul better than I can answer it.
