Philosophy
« on: May 16, 2008, 09:20:10 PM »

I am a deep thinker, and these are some questions that have been on my mind lately. Laugh if you may, but I think they bring up some interesting questions/discussions:

Did senses exist before people/animals were around to experience them?
For example, was there sound before there were ears?
Were there smells before there were noses?
Were there sights before there were eyes?

Did things exist before people/animals needed them?
For example, was there greenery before living things needed it to eat?
Was there water before there were living things to drink it?

I may add more to this later, if I think of anything.

Our senses let us experience the real world.  There are lots of dimensions we cannot experience because we cannot sense them.  For instance, sound waves that are out side of the range of our ears.  But, animals like bats and daulphins can sense these.
The real world exists outside of our perceptions/sound-sight-smells-touch, etc.

God formed earth and water before living things, then formed grass and then living things.  Actually, Huge Ross - great astrophysicist who became a Christian - examined the creation sequence of many major religions and concluded that Genesis 1 has the creation items in the order they are needed to sustain life.
